OH! The Fake Outrage of it All!
With NOTHING to Offer, Republican must distract & divide in order to survive!
Republicans, being the willful idiots that they are, having no grasp of complex thought or history (and their destruction thereof), have again attempted to create a false left/right paradigm – this time between Harry Reid’s statement about Barack Obama’s race and our political system and Trent Lott’s public lament that the ways of the good ol’ segregated South didn’t catch on to the rest of America.
Being that the true Republican agenda is to actually advance the interests of their true constituents – owners of rich multi-national corporations – over the interests of average Americas, the Republicans seize any opportunity to distract and divide no matter how ridiculously disingenuous the opportunity may be.
Revealed in Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s book Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime,
Harry Reid’s statement, in which he made an reference Barack Obama’s race – whom he described as a “light skinned” African-American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one” – would help rather than hurt his eventual presidential bid, was anachronistic and insensitive, but meant actually as a compliment whereas Lott’s statement praising the notorious racist Strom Thurmond’s Presidential loss as a sorry day for the country is truly insensitive and reveals a REAL underlying racism unbecoming any political leader.
Here is Lott delivering the notorious comment to his racist ghoul hero:
Reid apologized for his statement and Obama quickly accepted but Republicans saw an opportunity to feign outrage and went on their compliant media outlets to spread their message of fake outrage, calling for Reid to resign.
Of course, this is all a big game calculated to fool their Stockholm Syndrome suffering supporters into believing that the naked racism of Republican Trent Lott is somehow comparable to Reid’s comment.
Normal people know that the Republican party is a nest of racists who are so racist that they can’t even recognize when they are being racist – that is not by accident, but by design, being that the Republican party actively courted disenfranchised southern racists left adrift when the Democratic Party dragged their racist asses kicking and screaming towards a “more perfect union” with the passage of the Civil Rights Acts of 1957-1968, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Rather than addressing the issue of race – a mature conversation that American society could actually benefit from, Republicans continue to coarsen and dumb down discourse in order to further their greed-centered agenda. They can only thrive in a divided nation of “us against them.”
The sad but true racial hierarchy regarding the lightness or darkness of skin pigment is too real an issue and complex a thought to actually address intelligently; instead Republicans seize any opportunity to speak down to their constituents by infantilizing every complex issue with a poopie-pants taunt of “waaaaaa!!! he pooped his pant’s too!”
Harry Reid has a 96% rating from the NAACP, clearly backing African Americans where it counts, while Reid’s harshest critics such as Republican John Cornyn boasts a pathetic 7% rating.
It’s a typical tactic for Republicans to exploit the racial and social divisions they cultivate for a perceived political benefit.
Try as they might to attract African Americans to their nest of racists with their African American front man Michael Steele (who made his bones handing out fake sample ballots in minority neighborhoods that purposely misidentified him as a Democrat in order to trick “his people” into voting for their own demise) and his hip-hop makeover agenda, and their tokens sprinkled around for the benefit of the camera, normal people know that Republicans are not interested in the advancement of minorities in any form as Republicans require division and exploit the wedge-issues in order to get average Republican followers to vote against their own interests.
In spite of all their attempts to paint their opponents with the same brush, a paltry 7% of African Americans admit to supporting Republicans, the party that active works against them, routinely exploits racial fear, mistrust and division for political gain.
