The GOP Attempt to End Medicare – just ANOTHER day in the long history of Republican Failure

We live in a world where Rupert Murdoch’s Terrorist Network, Faux News, runs a 24/7 protection racket for transnational corporations, and willfully ignorant “average Joes” sit silently glued waiting for their cue to rally for their own demise.
Still, the word is getting out. Republicans are wholly-owned subsidiaries of said transnational corporations, and, with no loyalty to country or community, have never done a single thing to benefit the working people of this nation.
Republicans are inept by design, offering the same old failed policies again and again and again.
Bob Hertbert of the New York Times noted,
“What’s up with the Republicans? Have they no sense that their policies have sent the country hurtling down the road to ruin? Are they so divorced from reality that in their delusionary state they honestly believe we need more of their tax cuts for the rich and their other forms of plutocratic irresponsibility, the very things that got us to this deplorable state?”
…The truth, of course, is that the country is hemorrhaging jobs and Americans are heading to the poorhouse by the millions. The stock markets and the value of the family home have collapsed, and there is virtual across-the-board agreement that the country is caught up in the worst economic disaster since at least World War II.
The Republican answer to this turmoil?
Tax cuts.
They need to go into rehab.
The question that I would like answered is why anyone listens to this crowd anymore. G.O.P. policies have been an absolute backbreaker for the middle class. (Forget the poor. Nobody talks about them anymore, not even the Democrats.) The G.O.P. has successfully engineered a wholesale redistribution of wealth to those already at the top of the income ladder and then, in a remarkable display of chutzpah, dared anyone to talk about class warfare.”

Republicans have no solutions because they created the problem.
The latest Republican failure is the Paul Ryan budget plan, which kills Medicare and gives American seniors a coupon to purchase health insurance on the private market.
In addition, Ryan’s budget is a concoction of fantasy and outright fiction. As Slate reported, “…economists from across the spectrum gave the accounting the smell test and called it spoiled.” Read the breakdown of Ryan’s fuzzy math here.
Of course, normal people (non-Republicans) were not surprised that the Ryan plot to usher in Republican neo-Feudalism was merely just ANOTHER ideologically-based Republican failure waiting to get its claws around the neck of a nation made weary by 30 years of other] ideologically-based Republican failures.
Watch Anthony Weiner speak to the fact that Republicans have ALWAYS opposed the social safety net that Democrats created:
In the lead up to the 2010 midterms, Chris Matthews pressed Republican strategist Todd Harris to answer the question, “what has the Republican Party done for America?”
Matthews repeatedly asked for examples, as he cited negative examples like Bush-era spending bills, Katrina, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Harris had one attempt, “The Bush administration kept the country safe,” which Matthews shot back, “Except the one big day.”
“YouTube is watching,” he told Harris. “You’re the Republican consultant. One of the best in the country. Tell me what the Republican party has done for this country in the last ten to 20 years.”
Harris was silent.
Still, the poor, dumb, people of America sent Republicans to the House – like a chicken giving Colonel Sanders the key to the Chicken Coop.
Watch the exchange here:
The Republicans have us purposefully on a race to the bottom, promising to implement more of the same policies that turned the surplus they were handed into a deficit, the US into the LEAST upwardly mobile with the widest income disparity of all industrialized nations, and crashed the economy 2x in a century.

Right Wingers Desperate to Brand Giffords Shooter as “Left Wing Radical”

If you thought that the attempted assassination of Gabrielle Giffords, the murder of 5 other and the wounding of 14 attending a “Congress on Your Corner” event in Arizona would give right-wing hate peddlers a moment of reflection, then think again.
Not only did Right Wingers use the Giffords shooting as a fundraising opportunity, they also took the horrific crime against our elected representatives, innocent people and our system of government as an opportunity to propagate the tired “Liberal Fascism” lie once again.
With the successful right wing revision of our founding history freshly under their belt, right wingers are wasting no time re-writing the events of last weekend by frantically attempting to excuse their violent hate rhetoric and branding Jared Loughner as a lefty.
Right Wing cesspool WorldNetDaily has half a dozen headlines that scream of desperation – citing twitter posts from Loughner’s classmates stating he may have been inspired by the “radical leftist punk-rock band Anti-Flag.”
Another headline screamed, “Assassin’s politics lean ‘left wing, quite liberal… ‘Communist Manifesto,’ ‘Mein Kampf,’ listed as alleged gunman’s favorite reads.” This headline is really a twofer. Not only does it try to label Loughner as a Lefty, it propagates the Right’s frequent disingenuous meme equating Liberals with Nazis. Never mind that “Mein Kampf” is a right-wing tome, we know the Modern Right’s desire to deny their historical cousins is as pathological as Sarah Palin’s need to have her picture taken brandishing a loaded weapon.
Cons have long attempted to link Nazism with liberalism to downplay their own ideological ties to the fascist regime. Much of the neo-conservative playbook is taken directly from the most fundamental tenets of fascism. The inconvenient truth for right wingers is that Nazism was characterized by extreme nationalism, military domination, xenophobia, authoritarian leadership, and opposition to liberalism… in other words, an undeniably far-right political philosophy supported by many of Hitler’s American Capitalist contemporaries whose pro-corporate at-any-cost agenda bears an irrefutable resemblance to today’s right wing.

What Have Conservatives Done For Working People? Nothing! Arm Yourself for Teatarded Holiday Debates

As a New Year dawns and the tax-cut terrorist Republicans are poised to get their boney fingers around the neck of the “People’s House” in 2011, I shutter with the painful knowing that ever since they sold out to the Railroads in the late 1890s, the Republican Party does not get out of bed in the morning unless they can turn the government into a mere appendage to the affairs of banksters. Republicans are also so wedded to the same policies that have tanked the economy twice in a century that economists like Nouriel Roubini are outright speculating that Republicans are actively trying to tank the economy for political gain.
Though it baffles the mind why any working person would vote Republican in the Republican-induced “race to the bottom” world we have been living in since Reaganomics, we have to remember that it is merely a testament to the power of propaganda that has many unsuspecting dupes believing that anything less than complete corporate enslavement means the end of “freedom” itself.
A recent study stated the obvious – There is a direct correlation to the amount of Fox News an “Average Joe” views, to the amount of outright lies said “Average Joe” believes as Gospel truth.

Contempt is a Virtue in the Conservative Vision of America

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is trying to label the Democratic Party “The Party of Food Stamps,” so that must mean that Republicans are proudly the Party of Starvation –literally, figuratively and morally. The Republicans are so morally bankrupt, in fact, they actually celebrate the fact that firefighters stood idle while Gene Cranick’s home burned to the ground and 4 family pets burned to death for forgetting to pay a $75 fee. Welcome to the Teabag vision for America, where contempt is a virtue, compassion is reserved only for the rich and those in crisis are attacked as “sponges” and “freeloaders.”
Glenn Beck and the rest of the filthy cons leapt to the defense of this indefensible, morally bankrupt, act of contempt for a fellow American, but now Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association has weighed in, insisting that Jesus himself was a vindictive, greed-centered, free-market sociopath (curiously, like Fischer himself) who was not a feminized “love thy neighbor” type, but a “real man” who only gave a shit about himself.

Karl Rove Thrives In Our Corrupted Government

Thanks to the Supreme Court’s Citizen’s United ruling, the Corporate takeover of our government is complete and Karl Rove can now openly solicit massive contributions to his cause of getting his pudgy fingers on the neck of power in the name of our big-moneyed “betters.”
From Rawstory :
By David Edwards
A recent Supreme Court decision hailed by Republicans but condemned by most Democrats may be helping to stuff the coffers of conservative political groups founded by Karl Rove.
President George W. Bush’s former senior adviser admitted to Fox News Tuesday that his American Crossroads 527 and Crossroads GPS groups have benefited from the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.
The Republican National Committee actually lost money in 2009 but Rove doesn’t think his groups are part of the problem. The party ended the year with $10 million fewer dollars than at the start of the year.

Repugs Seek to Save Us From the “Tyranny” of Our Legally-Elected Government

The Republican Governors Association has produced an anti-government ad attacking President Barack Obama which would make Leni Riefenstahl blush. The ad appears on a site called RememberNovember.com- a not-so-veiled shout-out to the Guy Fawkes story glorifying domestic political terrorism… no doubt in the hopes to inspire the next Timothy McVeigh.
They RGA is trying to attract people to their website so they are not allowing others to embed the propaganda piece, but you can watch it here at the Huffington Post. Positioning themselves for the sake of their “average Joe” dupes as flag waving patriots, the RGA website features pictures of Barack Obama looking all “uppity” and “elitist” as well as quotes like this: “Remember November so that we can return America to its founding principles of freedom, personal responsibility and economic liberty. We Remember November so we, our children, and grandchildren can live with the freedoms our founding fathers intended.”
Here are some images from the ad with some RDT commentary:
Of course, Republicans would love to convince normal people that they have the true heart of the Founders with their “let them eat cake” attitude towards anyone who wasn’t born to lay around a swimming pool waiting for a dividend check to arrive. Regardless of history or reality – that even George Washington hoped that America would always be a beacon of liberality to the world – and that the majority of the founding fathers were inspired by the liberal Enlightenment – a progressive movement which challenged the historical “natural” order of class structure, wealth and governance – the makers of the ad are confident in their 30-year assault on the American education system to know that the audience they are attempting to reach will not let facts get in the way of their manias, prejudices or fears.

Social Safety Net Makes it Easy for David Koch to Rally Dupes

Sinclair Lewis wrote, “When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”
Although, he didn’t foresee that fascism would also come with the expressed consent of the huddled masses duped into taking up the cause the very segment of society that is keeping them down.
It would be an amusing tale if it weren’t so tragic… and terrifying… for to follow this story to its inevitable conclusion is to rewind social progress to the time before the New Deal – and to eliminate the very social programs that are now making this “tax payers revolt” possible.
This, of course, is the mission of the richest men in America, David Koch. For a sick reason that can only be attributed to sociopathic greed or malignant narcissism, Koch is not interested in investing his billions for the betterment of the world, such as Bill Gates may do, but conversely has made it his life’s work to pull the social ladder up behind him and ensure that the working class and the poor get no more of the crumbs that fall from his table.
Like the AIDS virus masking itself in our body politic, Koch disguises his nefarious intent in the trappings of an “average” grassroots movement and thus rallies “average” people to the cause of destroying themselves.

Conservatives Control The Past To Control The Future

More proof Conservatives hate America – they reject the truth of America’s liberal democratic roots and replace it with ideologically based mythology.
This latest attempt to flush liberals down the memory hole is in the spirit of the Conservative Bible Project, where dead-ender ideologues took passages out of the Bible that they deemed “too liberal,” the Texas Board of Education, a school system that is an embarrassment to anyone with a brain, is now actively assaulting America’s future by disingenuously rewriting history in an attempt to influence the future. This, of course, is in their direct fear that students might catch on that Conservative philosophy is anathema to a strong, vibrant and thriving middle class.
From the beginning of time, normal people have struggled to evolve in spite of the unending drag that “Conservatives” and their ilk put on progress. Historically, Conservatives fought human advancement as that typically meant that the huddled masses became empowered and the authoritarian kings and well-heeled aristocracy were dethroned.
This feudal system thrived on a hierarchical balance of power sustained by the systematic propagation of ignorance – typically with the complicity of organized religion employed to appease the natural anger of oppression with promises of paradise after the “betters” had worked you to death.
From these Dark Ages came the Age of Enlightenment, trumpeted by liberal philosophers such as John Locke, who replaced the Divine Right of Kings and established religion with the political and philosophical concept that people form states to create and maintain a social contract which benefits EVERYONE – not just the top 1%.

Beck Tells Tales of Terrorism and Myth

Knowing that Faux News viewers are stupid enough to vote for Republicans, Glenn Beck, looking ruddy and puffy as usual most likely from his admitted alcoholism, ranted on his corporate protection racket about his dreams for another terrorist attack in the United States.
Taking a break from his usual trolling for Presidential assassins, Beck indulged his other favorite pastime of fear mongering by giving his mouth-breathing followers a glimpse into his fantasies of Al Qaeda murdering Americans and destroying an American city.
Beck, committed to the ongoing campaign to dupe xenophobic, willfully ignorant, rank and file Republicans of the truth that their party actively works against average working people, also took the opportunity to weave the often utilized convenient fairy-tale myth of the “rugged individual” in order to assuage them of the nagging fear that Republican policies have destroyed the American Dream.

Republicans Too Frightened to Live in a Nation of Laws

We all know that in the chest of every Republican beats the heart of a coward longing for an authoritarian daddy to save him or her from the monsters, real or imagined, that they create.
In their ongoing effort to criticize every move that a Democratic administration makes, Republicans are currently drumming up hysteria about the fact that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, one of the alleged masterminds of the September 11th terrorist attacks, will actually be tried in a court in New York City rather than detained indefinitely without charges or tried in secret.
During an interview with Andrea Mitchell, cowardly Republican Sen. Christopher “Kit” Bond joined chorus of Republicans pooping their diapers about putting a terror suspect on trial rather than violating rights dating back to the Magna Carta.
